These terms cover your purchase and use of Tabiya, a desktop chess database application, together with the Gigabase game archive and any update subscription. Tabiya is made by Tabiya ("we", "us"). By buying or using Tabiya you agree to these terms.
Payments are handled by Stripe through its Link service, which acts as the merchant of record. Your card statement will show a charge from LINK.COM* TABIYA. Stripe calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipts and handles payment questions. Stripe's own terms apply to the payment itself.
A one-time purchase gives you a permanent license to use the version of Tabiya you bought, plus your Gigabase archive. That is Gigabase Core (games from 2000 onward) or Gigabase Complete (the full archive), depending on what you buy. It does not include future updates to either the software or the archive. Those come with an update subscription, described below.
The update subscription costs $7 per month or $60 per year, plus any tax. It gives you each monthly Gigabase update and new versions of Tabiya while it is active.
Prices are in US dollars and may change for new purchases. If we change the price of an active subscription, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then.
See our Refund Policy.
Tabiya needs an internet connection to activate your license, download your archive and install updates. It checks your license periodically. Chess analysis and browsing your database work offline.
Tabiya is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable, and game data comes from many public sources that may contain errors. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about Tabiya beyond those stated here. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
If you break these terms, for example by sharing your license key publicly, we may deactivate your license. A refunded or charged-back purchase also ends the license.
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date. These terms are governed by the laws of Tennessee, USA.
